Our story
Following a mentorship in Norway with acclaimed songwriters, Gustavo Pessoa sought to differentiate himself by offering a comprehensive file management service to his clients. He enlisted the help of his brother, Pedro Pessoa, who had expertise in web development, to bring his ideas to fruition. The two quickly realized that their solution could benefit many people beyond just Gustavo's studio. Thus, on a sunny morning in Los Angeles, Bitbu was founded. Pedro initially worked on the platform during his early morning hours and after his full-time job as a web developer. As the project progressed, Gustavo encouraged Pedro to leave his job and work on Bitbu full-time. After two years of development and multiple iterations, Bitbu is now ready for widespread use.
Prologue
Bitbu was founded to address a pressing issue within the music industry: file management. Frustrated with the limitations of existing solutions and the repetitive nature of managing file sharing with clients and team members, Gustavo & Pedro Pessoa sought to create a platform that would be intuitive, efficient, and tailored to the needs of the music industry. As individuals with a deep passion for music and a shared understanding of the challenges faced by professional musicians, the Pessoa brothers were driven to provide a high-quality service at an affordable price point. Bitbu operates with the fundamental principle of prioritizing the needs of its users, rather than maximizing profit. The company is self-funded and operates independently, driven by a passion for creating products that serve the needs of the music industry.
The future
Our ongoing strategy includes continuous improvement and expansion of our current features, as well as the development of new ones. We are actively exploring opportunities to collaborate with performing rights organizations to enhance our song registration service. We believe that there is significant room for improvement in the current process and are committed to making it more efficient. Additionally, we are focused on increasing the involvement of songwriters in our platform by integrating a lyrics page with tools to facilitate collaboration among teams. As we continue to grow, we are also focused on expanding our global reach by adding more servers to ensure that we are the fastest and most reliable file management platform in the music industry.
